Death

If you die after your retirement date, your partner and/or children may receive a benefit payment from the pension fund. Whether this is actually the case depends on:

  • the terms and conditions we impose on the partner’s pension and the orphan’s pension
  • the choices you made just before your retirement date

The amounts reserved for your partner and/or your children will appear on your first benefit statement.

What should your surviving dependants do?
If you die, the pension fund will contact your partner and/or your children. We can only do that if we have your most recent details. Do you live abroad? Always notify the pension fund of any changes.

If you are married or in a registered partnership when you die, your surviving dependants will receive an application form for partner’s and/or orphan’s pension within three weeks of your death. If you were cohabiting, your partner will have to ask for this application form.
