The Pension Council has published the annual report for 2024, a year in which the Pension Council, the Pension Fund Manager and the Sr. Analyst of J&J Pension Fund OFP accomplished a great deal. In addition to normal activities, a significant amount of time and energy has been devoted to developing the new Pension Agreement, which must be implemented by January 1, 2028.

The role of the Pension Council
The Pension Council, comprising representatives of both employees and employers, plays a crucial role in advising the pension fund board, the central works council and the employers. Their advice focuses on issues such as pension scheme content, funding plans and communication policy. Each year, the Pension Council renders account in an annual report. 

The Pension Council’s composition changed slightly in 2024 
Throughout 2024, 3 employer representatives and 1 employee representative resigned and were partially replaced, resulting in 1 vacancy for both employers and employees at the end of 2024. The Pension Council held several meetings each quarter to discuss the work of the three committees and the Pension Council as a whole.

In addition to its regular duties, the Pension Council is actively involved in the implementation of the Future Pensions Act (Wet Toekomst Pensioenen, Wtp). The implementation of this act will be the Pension Council’s main focus for the coming years. How are we doing financially?
The coverage ratio of our pension fund increased in 2024, from 151% at the end of 2023 to 174% at the end of 2024. This was mainly caused by the rise in interest rates.

Indexation advice for active and inactive participants
In 2024, the Pension Council provided twelve pieces of advice, including three related to the indexation of active and inactive participants. You can read the recommendations in the pension council report.
